Hallo gryfons!

This time of year in the Silver Isles is usually leading up to the celebration of the Long Night! Gathering food, wood for fires (a newish tradition), gathering rowan branches, and playing festive friendly games. They decorate and freshen dens with boughs of fir and take time to reflect on the year and make time for warm snuggles and stories with loved ones.

I hope you're all winding down the year in style, being good to yourselves, and have things to do, things to love, and things to look forward to.

Back with book news soon!

Fair winds always,

~Jess
It is that time again. the time when Griffins huddel togetehr in caves and tell spooky stories.
I want to know, what are your favorite horror stories? movies, books, something real that happened to you?
did you write your own horror story and want to share them?

some of my favorite horror movie recommendations are

Ocolus: a really smart horror movie, one of the best of recent times.

The Cube: incredible dense psycho thriller with legitimate terrifying themes.

The thing (from another world): a all time classic. this movie is actually a remake of a old black and white movie, but a example of a remake done right.
the practical effects are still incredible today.

In the mouth of Madnes: the colsest thing you have regaurading a decent adaption to true lovecraftian Horror.
if you know HP lovecraft, you know what you are in for. it isn´t a direct adaption of a lovecraft story, but it is definetly true to the idea of Lovecraft. probably the single best movie in that area.
Hallo hallo!

I stumbled across the most amazing YouTube channel! This man is a professor of Norse history and mythology, and he has a million videos on it :D Here is a video on Names. Might inspire anyone who is unsure how to pronounce gryfony names, or help you name your Silver Isles OC ;D

Enjoy!

Hellooooo Pride members!

This is just a lil update in case your main jam is here on Deviantart and you're not following me on Twitter or Facebook and have nooooo idea what's going on with gryfons these days.

YES there is another gryfon novel the works, entitled Rise of the Dragon Star, for which I am planning a Christmas (yes that is THIS CHRISTMAS) release. There will not be a kickstarter campaign for this novel, just a Kindle & paperback release, like, *gasp* a normal book. This novel takes place about a decade after the events in the Summer King Chronicles, and feature a few beloved old gryfons, but mostly brand new ones, and kicks off another four-book series: The Dragon Star Saga.

I'll keep everyone posted!

I am slower to update art here due to focusing on my Patreon! Pictures will filter here slowly but if you think you might be interested in gryfony sketches, the occasional short story set in the world of the Summer King, as well as teasers from new projects, come on over and check it out. There are only two tier options, so it's very easy to decide! www.patreon.com/authorjessowen

Life is good. Gryfons are awesome. I love your comments and favs and your submissions to the group. I am still thinking about loosely hosting a Windstone style RP here, but it will probably be early 2020, unless anyone can volunteer to help me get it off the ground sooner. My main focus is writing new BOOKS, but the idea of an art challenge rp here is still very appealing and definitely on the backburner.

Thanks a bunch all, fair winds always!
